Bio cups have gained attention mainly due to their degradable properties. So, how long does it take for a bio cup to degrade?
Generally, to make them waterproof, the inside of the paper cup is coated with plastic, which is very difficult to degrade and significantly extends the degradation time. Without considering other factors, if it is a pure biodegradable paper cup without a coating, it usually takes about 3 months, that is, one summer or one quarter, to fully degrade.
However, the degradation also depends on the environment, including temperature, humidity, and light. Our bio cups are made of PLA (polylactic acid) material, which is inherently degradable, thus speeding up the degradation process. Compared to traditional paper cups, biodegradable paper cups have a shorter degradation time and are more environmentally friendly. Feel free to contact us for more information!”
